La morphologie du paysage - en d'autres mots, le relief reflète la composition et les structures géologiques sous-jacentes. Dans la région comprenant le Nord de la France et la Flandre méridionale en Belgique, ceci est démontré par plusieurs exemples. Partant de quelques caractéristiques morphologiques bien typiques visibles en surface, on va explorer les aspects géologiques qui en sont la cause.
Abstract
The morphology of the landscape - in other words, the topography - reflects the type of sediments and the geological structures of the subsoil. For the region of Northern France and Southern of Flanders, this is demonstrated by a few examples. Starting from some very typical morphological aspects at the earth's surface, we are going to explore the geological features that caused them.
