Geology, stability and building of two motorway tunnels in a city (Liege, Cointe Hill)

La géologie et l'étude géotechnique des massifs dans lesquels deux tunnels auto-routiers dans la ville de Liège sont en cours de creusement, sont décrites ainsi que le mode d'exécution. Le calcul de la stabilité du tunnel en cours de construction a été fait à l'aide d'un programme par éléments finis tenant compte des phases d'excavation. Des mesures de tassements, de déformation et de convergence en galerie ont été faites pour comparer avec les résultats des calculs.
Abstract
Geology and geotechnical studies of the site where two motorways tunnels in the city of Liege are dug are given as well as the way of building them. Tunnels stability calculation during building were done by finite elements method taking into account the construction phases. Settlement, deformation and tunnels convergency measurements were done for comparison.
