Dilatancy-Contractancy of granular mediums : strain of a analogical medium

La variation de volume qui intervient dans la déformation d'un milieu pulvérulent (dilatance-contractance) est analysée à l'aide d'un milieu analogique constitué d'un assemblage régulier de cylindres de même diamètre. Les champs de vitesse de déformation et de déformation finie sont analysés dans les cas de déformation pure et rotationnelle. Les relations entre ces déformations et les champs de contraintes associés sont abordées.
Abstract
The volume change which happens in the strain of a granular medium (dilatancy-contractancy) is analysed with the help of an analogical medium made of a regular structure of iso-diametric cylinders. The strain-rate and finite strain fields are analysed in the cases of pure and rotational strain. Some relations between these strains and the linked stress fields are suggested.
